The Europa district

The new top address in the heart of Stuttgart

Visualisation: DB AG
The Europa district is one of the most important inner city developments in Germany. Some building complexes have already been completed. Until the 1980s, this was the site of the central freight station and marshalling yard which served Stuttgart city centre.

The development of the Europa district will move the new Hauptbahnhof into the centre of the city. One great benefit of the new district is that everything is central and within easy reach. The new Hauptbahnhof, Königstrasse shopping precinct and Schlossgarten park are all within a radius of just 500 metres. The sites which are still available will be marketed by  Deutsche Bahn AG. The architect Boris Podrecca has been commissioned with designing the public areas in the Europa district.

Moskauer Strasse is the central thoroughfare in the new district. All the other streets and squares are designed as pedestrian precincts. The new library will be a new cultural centre in the Europa district.

Planned construction projects

Numerous construction projects, such as Pariser Höfe, Library Square and the headquarters of LBBW-Immobilien real estate company are meanwhile being planned for the Europa district. The cultural centre of the new urban district will be the new library in Mailänder Platz.
