More space for housing, service sector and commerce

The twelve-hectare site (Sectors A2 and A3) is situated on the present station throat, directly beside Schlossgarten park. On completion of the new Hauptbahnhof and immediately next to the Europa district, the extension of the city centre (Sector A1), additional space will be created for housing, the service sector and commerce. The present ten-metre difference in height between the level where the tracks enter Hauptbahnhof and Cannstatter Strasse will be evened out. Pedestrians will be able to walk directly from the Europa district (Sector A1) to Schlossgarten park.
